The 4AHEL and 4BHEL classes spent their language trip – organized by Mag. Kerstin Istvanits – in Ireland between 24 April and 3 May 2019. Their form teachers OStR. Mag. Josef Kröpfl and Dipl-Ing. (FH) Ing. Harald Stipsits, BEd, as well as Mag. Martina Klenner accompanied the students.
In Dublin the students stayed with host families and attended a language school in the mornings. The program included a guided tour in Dublin castle, a Greyhound race and a cliff walk in Howth. Moreover, a visit at the Teeling Distillery granted us some insights into a local company. A day trip led the group to Belfast/Northern Ireland, where the Titanic museum was visited.
Additionally, the western part of the Emerald Isle – with hotspots such as Galway, Connemara, Burren, Lisdoonvarna – got explored. One of the highlights was our visit to the Cliffs of Moher where we were even lucky with the weather.
To put it in a nutshell: The students of the 4AHEL and 4BHEL classes experienced Irish culture, history, hospitality; used English in several situations; improved their team spirit and returned with lots of stories in their carry-on…
